Events

The CG Masters Champs, an annual event hosted by CGMA and other regions, takes place in April. Open to all provinces, it features track, field, and race-walking events. No qualifying rounds are required.

The South African Masters Athletics Championships occur in May, following provincial championships. No qualifying rounds are necessary for participation. Athletes must be registered with Central Gauteng Masters Athletics (CGMA) to compete.

CGA hosts annual Cross Country leagues from March to May. Athletes must participate in at least 3 leagues to qualify for provincials. Top athletes are selected to represent Central Gauteng at the National Championships.

The African Masters Athletics (AFMA) is a regional body affiliated with World Masters Athletics. It is responsible for organising and governing masters athletics championship competitions for athletes from across the African continent. The AFMA Championships are typically held in November.
